I Almost Forgot

there was one part of Dark Knight that I actually liked.

When Heath was the Joker dressed as a nurse.
An old school - white hose, SAS shoes nurse.

This finally entertained me. It was like Tootsie, Brokeback Mountain, and a Kiss concert all in one.

The love of Mad Men...

A dear friend of mine (who shall remain nameless) sent me this IM today:

"Let me ask you a moral question... would it be wrong for me to go home and have sex with my husband so he passes out all evening and I can watch Mad Men?"

That's how good this show is! Anyone catch the Season 2 Opener?

NERD ALERT: the 1%, one week later...

I talked about this on the most recent show, but I am a part of the now infamous 1% of MobileMe subscribers that has been without email for the past week and nothing has been explained, given a time-line on a fix, nothing. Yesterday, we got some press in the NYTimes, (read the whole thing here.) :
It's amazing that Apple doesn't recognize this situation. This is an airplane that's stuck on the runway for hours with no food or working bathroom. And the pilot doesn't come on the P.A. system to tell the customers what the problem is, what's being done to fix it, how much longer they might be stuck, and how he empathizes with their plight. Instead, he comes on once every three hours to repeat the same thing: "We apologize for the inconvenience."
It's amazing to me to see how dependent I have become on technology. My first email address was in 1997 and I barely used it. Now, without it, I am in a constant state of panic, like I lost my cell phone or someone stole my wallet.

For those of you that are questioning why anyone would pay for an email service... that's a very good question.

Sadzies. Is anyone of our listeners a "1%er"? I can't be the only one...

I'd like to say this is the first time Doug has ever shown me his BATTER BLASTER.

But today he walked up to me at Jewel while we were grocery shopping to show me this new horrifying product. Its like Redi-Whip except its pancake/waffle batter.

Batter Blaster? Really?

It's a Girl!

My niece Madeline Grace was born this morning

8 lbs. 10oz. 22 inches

Everyone is healthy and doing great.

The one downside that she is going to be that girl in grade school that has a summer birthday... that always sucks.

Love on the Runway

Towleroad reported this morning that Wesley and Daniel from this season of Project Runway are possibly having a romance... read all about it.

Let's be honest, who wouldn't pay to watch that. ;)

iPhone Apps I Love: Comic Touch

So, I must admit that I have dove into the App Store hard. I have downloaded games and other apps that have made my iPhone experience that much better. One of them is Comic Touch.
Basically what this does is give you the ability to make comic strips out of pictures taken on your iPhone, which, for a snarky bitch like me, is gold. Here is an example of one taken from my hood:
Download it for your iPhone Here

Runway Crushes

It is no secret that we at the Daily Purge love to crush on some Reality TV boys. This season of Project Runway seems to have no shortages of cuties.

Its still early to tell but I like:

Daniel - a lot - in a dirty kinda way

and Wesley - the most - he's super stylish, classic, and a good mid-western boy. He was the inspiration behind even wanting to blog today - yummers

then there's the hideous Blayne - so gross. Like a gay/tan gollum

Tall scraggle-tooth guy with eye patch, in hoarse creepy voice: Do you like balloon animals? I like balloon animals!

Grace Jones love her iSight Camera and eating men.

After 19 years, Grace Jones (known to me as the woman that gave me nightmares after seeing her in the movie "Boomerang") has put out a new video which seems to have been produced on her mac with the PhotoBooth iSight effects... take a look:

I can do that too, see...

Wait for it...

Watch this until the end... it's worth it.

I love Wipeout!!!

I'll just say it, ABC's Wipeout... A+

Barbara Cook @ Ravinia

I saw Broadway legend Barbara Cook at Ravinia's Martin Theatre last night.
It was amazing. She was just amazing - and it was a perfect night.
Kind of the end of a long/America Hurrah/Doug's B'day weekend and it was just lovely.
We had seats so close to her that I felt like she was looking right at us.

There's tons of clips of her on YouTube - but I'm gonna post this one.
The quality isn't that great - but this is a good representation of what she did last night.
This is her encore - she did it with no mic - just simple and lovely.

Hey Mac Nerds! MobileMe Tomorrow Night!

Hey Brad! The Season 10 Big Brother Cast was announced!

Since I know most of you (if not all of you, save our friend Brad) do not watch Big Brother, I won't clutter the blog with video clips introducing each cast member. HOWEVER one of my fav blogs Towleroad has posted those video clips and if you are interested in seeing the gay cowboy, the professional body builder, the young republican, the 75 year old man who is in it to win it, and a bunch of crazy girls.... click here

This Just In: Reality TV Stars are not there to make friends

Because Jellicles can and Jellicles do...

This Just In: Thayne from So You Think You Can Dance, was a CAT!Let me count the ways Thayne, let me counts the ways... NOW, if he could just get a decently choreographed dance on the f-ing show, maybe we can see him for a few more weeks! SHENANIGANS!!!

Ryan has moved on... to balloons.

I loves Harpo, God knows I do.

So, I was just reading (like you do...) and there was an article called "10 Ways to a Fearless Life" in the Spirit and Self section. Now I know that Big O doesn't write these herself but this one got my eyes rolling (feel free to disagree)

4. Cheer Up!

"The next time you feel shaky, pause. Say these words to yourself: "I could always just cheer up." And then cheer up. This actually works. It may only last for a few seconds/minutes/hours, but you can always try it again."

Not to be a nay-sayer, because I love the self help, but if you are afraid or stressed out and someone comes by and says "Cheer Up!" you want to punch them in the pussy. So, I just don't know about saying it to yourself.

Still love the Big O...

Well, Mama Cass... this was... well... different...

Happy Monday Everyone!
