Jake Shears Meets Dolly

How cute are these clips of Jake from Scissor Sisters with Dolly Parton!?
Make me wanna hug both of 'em

According to their MySpace bulliten: Earlier this year Jake fulfilled a life-long ambition when he met his heroine Dolly Parton.

British fans can watch the results of the meeting this Christmas when T4 airs a 'When Jake Met Dolly' special.

For when you have given up on life...

You know those SkyMall magazines that are in planes? My friend Katie just sent this to me...All that is missing from this outfit is a tub of cookie dough and a retarded kid named Arnie.

Here is the product description:
Stay cozy and keep your hands free!
Here's the best blanket - hands down - for snuggling up with a book or laptop computer. Put your arms in the 13" -wide sleeves and then turn pages, type, knit or do anything else with your hands without uncovering your body. The generously sized Slanket in midweight polyester fleece feels great and keeps you warm indoors or out. Machine wash and dry. 60" W x 95" L. Available in six colors.

You too can look like an elephant... Buy it here!

This really is quite something... bravo SkyMall... bravo.

Thanks to a tip from our dear listener Josh (from Boston) I subscribed to and sure enough I got a text message about a minute ago saying that Amazon had some in stock. so I placed my order. Two minutes later... no more wii. Josh, I could just kiss you on your mouth!

I Saw Sweeney Todd Tonight

I won't give much away - promise.

But I had a great time tonight at an advanced screening of SWEENEY TODD.

As we've said many times on the show JMH and I met in the ensemble of this show when Porchlight Music Theatre did it here in Chicago 3 years ago, so I know this score/play inside out - but I was ready to have a good time - and I totally did.

Visually its un-REAL! So amazing. And the visuals and the orchestra will give you chills.

I liked Johnny Depp. I liked Helena Bonham Cuckoo too. But a singer she ain't - if you're a purist who wants an Angela or a Patti - stay home. Her acting was great though.

Alan Rickman was great - the Beedle was AMAZING. Sasha Baron Cohen was great - his package is unreal
I like Anthony (although he looked more like Toni Colette) and Johanna - but my fav in the whole show was Toby. Holy crap he was good.

Purists and jealous female singers are probably not going to like this. And I even wondered if the average Joe who's never seen the show will, but fans of the show who would go see it anywhere and anyone who loves blood - and I mean LOTS and LOTS of blood will like it.

I loved it. Very fun evening.

Poor Man's Christmas

This year, because I have no money for gifts, I decided to make my grown up version of a macaroni necklace and record a Christmas CD and by “record a Christmas CD” I mean, Karaoke my brains out and press record. But I do it up right with a CD cover and everything…

Ham Hanukkah

How much do we love this!

Everyone loves a Hanukkah HAM!

Special thanks to the fatties over at The Little Fatty Cast for letting me steal - I mean borrow this picture.

Happy Hanukkah to all of our Jewballs listeners. We had a great one at my house. Tonight we light the menorah for the last night - and then its time to put up the big silver tree!

I was there... (jealous?) BUY THIS NOW!!!

No words...

You know what? and I mean this in all seriousness... I love gay people! I really, really do...

Shirley and I Both Got New Hats for Channukah

Ok - forgive the webcam sex lighting

but thank god for the iSight - and for Target

Doug bought Shirley and I both new hats for Channukah. Sweet hot oil and latkes. Mine is cute and practical. Shirley's is an elephant costume. It literally make me wheezey Jefferson. I FUCKING LOVE CATS IN COSTUMES.

I'm just saying.

This Just In: Amy Winehouse still Crazy As a Shit-House Rat

Not to be out-done by Shitney. Amy Winehouse gets completely cracked-out and wanders around at 5:40 AM in her bra, jeans, and flip-flops.

Well done Amy

Seriously?! How cute is he?

I can't stand it.

I also can't stop listening to these CDs.

Sufjan, will you marry me? or at least come sing to me?

I'm in Love

Ok. I'm an old man - and sometimes I don't find "what the kids are listening to" for a long-ass time.

Well I am in LOVE with Sufjan Stevens. He's so good. And PERFECTLY cute. Like the cutest, hottest, most perfect.

I just got his Christmas CD set. Run don't walk. Its real, real good. Some original stuff on it, but lots and lots of fun/nerdball arrangements of traditional carols. Dear Lord. I love holiday music and this one is my new fav.

And COME ON! How cute is this boy?

Confessions of a Guilty Pleasure

So when I first saw this CD cover hanging literally larger than life at Borders, I laughed out loud. Sweet JESUS! She's unreal - like doesn't even look human.

Then she was on Oprah. Come on. They were both doing, like, parodies of themselves. "I'm weird." "No, I"m weird" I watched the episode twice all the way through. So funny.

Then. . .

And let me preface this by saying I have never owned a Celine Dion CD or anything - and have never really liked her.

I bought the CD. And now I listen to it all the time. I feel dirty for liking it.

I like it in the same way I like over the top clothes, decidant food, and drinking too much. Not always good for me - but so much fun.

She's crazy.

I feel better now that I've let all twelve of our blog readers know.

This is a prime example of corn-fed Iowa goodness... sure he's talking Republican fodder, but as my dear friend Rob would say, "just shut up and let's get those pants off." HONK!

Eat Your Yeggies

There are no words.

Blake, Blake, Blake...

Does anyone else think that Blake probably should have just stuck with a profile shot for his cover... I mean, yes he's cute, but this is a terrible picture... and the cover art looks a little Star-Trekky to me...
I'm sure the CD is beat-box-o-rific...

Chicago Style

One of my friends from Baby Wants Candy is in a cool group called Cook County Social Club and they've just started posted vidjos on YouTube.

Check this one out. And if you're in Chicago you should go see their live show.

My Birthday...

As some of you, by number of emails I have received, have obviously remembered, it is my birthday next Monday, Nov. 12th. I will be turning 28. A number of you have asked that I put together an Amazon Wish List so here it is...

My Wish List

You may have noticed some extremely lavish items on that list... well, this old bitch is fancy. ;) Seriously, you don't have to get me anything... but if you are loaded, knock yourself out.
Thanks for remembering babies... you are all dear to me.

Buh-Bye Queer Eye

So Queer Eye is going off the air. I decided to watch a couple of the final episodes.

Yeah - I'm ok with this show leaving our world.

It is amazing to think how far Queers have come on TV.

Like, I loved the great first date on Ugly Betty last week. It made these Fab Squeeling Five seem so cliche and embarrassing.

I will miss seeing Kyan's hot face around.

Very Scary Movie... VERY! SCARY!

Sad, but funny...

Best Scary Movie?

Best scary movie? you tell me.

Betty Buckley in knee socks? Amy Irving with a middle part? Edie McClurg throwing Maxi-pads and yelling "plug it up?"

The best!

What is your fav halloween movie? or fav part of Carrie?

Zac Efron in Gym Shorts

As I recall, this may be have been the subject matter of one of Rob's Open Letters... HONK!

Birdhouse in Your Soul

Tonight's Pushing Daisies made me remember this song - and how much I F'ing loved it back it the day

You youngin's might think of this as an oldie - but when your old Auntie Rob was in college this song was all the rage.

I Got Joni's Autograph!!

So you all know that I'm a Joni SuperFan.

I love her more than any other artist. So today was a GREAT day.

Well - thanks to a fantastic listener who helped keep me in the know, I went to her art exhibit in the Village in NYC when I was there last month.

This week my SIGNED catalouge from the exhibit arrived in the mail.

Imagine my GLEE when it was made out "To Robert"

I'm over the moon about it.

Thanks to Michael for helping flip the picture! Smoochers.

Dumbledore being gay... The Onion's view

Read this from The Onion, very funny stuff.

falling down... funny, but sucks.

So, like an asshole today, I totally biffed it. I tripped over my foot on a curb and totally fell right on a sidewalk. To make matters worse, a group of kids waiting for their bus saw the whole thing and laughed unabashed... not a great way to start the day.

R.I.P. Deborah Kerr

One of my very favorite actresses in the world died on Tuesday at age 86. I remember my mom and I watched "An Affair to Remember" and cried and cried. She was a wonderful lady and she will be greatly missed.

Deborah Kerr, the acclaimed British actress whose versatile talent and refined screen persona made her one of Hollywood's top leading ladies in the 1950s in films such as "From Here to Eternity," "The King and I" and "An Affair to Remember," has died. She was 86.

Kerr, who in recent years suffered from Parkinson's disease, died Tuesday in Suffolk, eastern England, her agent said today. (source)

The grand prize is $5000, so if you can take a second for vote for this film, I'd really appreciate it.

"The Secret" meets art

You guys might hear me mention being a BzzAgent in the next couple of months or so. It's this cool word of mouth campaign that my buddy David J turned me onto.

He and I were actually having drinks at a bar and he produced 3 different jars of mustard and had all of us taste-test them right at the bar. Love that! And he mentioned that he thought I'd be a good bzzAgent - so yeah, I'm working on it.

Anyway - through that service I found this:

Ok, I think this website Visit is hilarious.

Basically its some 20-something artists who sell paintings of things they want for the price of what the item would cost.

So you can get a painting of a slice of pizza for a couple bucks.

Or a painting of an iPhone for a lot more.

How much does a painting of washboard abs cost?

Visit the site to find out.

Clay Aiken is not gay... he will just be playing it on stage.

In a shockingly bold career move, Clay Aiken will be heading to Broadway. It appears that he has landed the role of Sir Robin in Spamalot... the gay one. The funnier part of this story is the picture that the article used.

Which we know is bullshit... he looks like this:

He might want to vacation in South Beach before heading to New York... if you know what I mean.

Thanks to Doug for the tip!
